BAGUIO POW Camp in the Philippines
|
Second Lieutenant Harry Turner, his wife Joan and their small child Harry, were captured in the Philippines by the Japanese. Harry's mother wrote until she found where they were being held. Joan and little Harry were being held in Baguio internment camp, and Harry was in a POW camp. Harry was later put on a Japanese ship to be taken to Japan to another POW camp when the Allies attacked, not realizing there were American POW's on the ship. Harry unfortunately was killed. Joan and little Harry later returned to the United States. |
