Ann (along with Joy Olson and Patty Corum from Sturgis), moved to Denver immediately after high school graduation and attended Parks Business College, completing the course work in 6 months, from June 1958 to Dec 1958.  A highlight of business college was setting a new school record for typing and shorthand speed. 

While in school, she worked as a maid for the Marshall family at 920 York St, for room and board and $5.00 a week....   Then to boarding houses and apartments after going to work.

An irony was realized 30 years later when Ann, then selling real estate in Phoenix, was contracted by the president of Parks Business College to purchase several condos to house students for their new school in Phoenix.   

Ann worked at Continental Auto Import in Denver from Dec. 1958 to May 1960.

She worked for Martin Marietta, under contract to the U.S. Air Force,  at Buckley Field from May 1960-January 18, 1961.

 

1961

American-Marietta merges with the Glenn L. Martin Company to form the Martin Marietta Corporation, a leader in aerospace, The Air Force decided to switch large national-security payloads to the Titan-IV rocket, built by Martin Marietta in southwest Denver. It is important to recognize that the Titan-IV, this nation's largest launch vehicle, has been used solely for the purpose of classified payloads, and that the upcoming contested launch of the Cassini space probe in October 1997 will be the first time Titan-IV will have been used for an acknowledged mission.
