My Uncle John  was in the grocery business the rest of his working life.  He and some associates started a grocery chain in the 1950's in California and did quite well.  When we moved to California in 1974 I looked around until I found one of the chain stores.  Don't remember the name of the chain, but know they were bought out by a bigger chain.  John and his wife Sue retired and moved to Angel Camp, CA, where they both died within a year or so of each other - at least 35 years ago. 

(Grace Moffitt, in the autographs, suggested Leo might change her last name, which tickles both the Dennises and Moffitts.)

Grace married Adolph Guthals, one of the Guthals boys.  There were at least three, two remained in Fowler, and their wives taught school.  One was my (David Moffitt's) second grade teacher and the other was one of my sixth grade teachers.  Arnold Guthals worked for the gas company as best I remember, and his brother farmed in the Fowler area - all great people.  Adolph and Grace lived in Clovis, NM where they started a landscape-garden center still managed by the family.
