Projects greatly inspired by Don's love of Tlaquepaque pottery!

(In response to questions:
Wall in background painted tan and rubbed with 4-5 colors of watered down paint).

(Wall in background textured with drywall mud, painted yellow,
and rubbed with a cloth dipped in  watered (1 cup paint, 2 cups water) red-orange paint).

II was surprised to find an Alaskan Clay bear I'd made in the 1970's for sale on ebay.   The seller,  kimbenh, graciously let me use one of their pictures.

Living in Alaska, we dug this clay in the goldfields of Goldstream Valley, outside Fairbanks.   It was green in color  when wet, but turned red when fired.

I made thousands of pieces over several years and sold them in my shop at Alaskaland, and stores downtown.    Those were the days of film that had to be developed, and I have very few pictures, so appreciated this photo.

Another Piece of the 1970's Alaska Clay Pottery has been found.

A couple bought an abandoned house in Carson, WA, and
found this large iceberg with two bears on it, in the house.
Thank you Hannah Joy, for giving me permission to post
your photograph of it.

It is another made from Goldstream Valley clay - signed and dated 1978.
